Local Basic PTI
The local basic PTI is similar in content to the
national PTIs, with an added emphasis on building relationships
within a closer geographic community. Twelve to twenty participants
gather for approximately one week to explore theory and practice
of nonviolence, examine justice issues such as racial and economic
injustice, and learn nonviolent strategies and anti-racist organizing
tools with which to address them.
Local PTIs are coordinated and
facilitated by local organizers, community-based activists who have
trained at an Advanced PTI Training for Trainers and worked with
the FOR to organize the local PTI in their community. Please
apply online, or e-mail the local organizer of the PTI(s) you are
most interested in for more information, including costs.
Upcoming Local Trainings to be announced
The PEACEMAKER TRAINING INSTITUTE, a project of the
FOR, is made possible through generous gifts from Adele Thomas, the New York Friends
Group and the Kirkridge New Generation Fund. The FOR gratefully acknowledges their
support. |
